1. About 300 seeds / gram.
2. At least an 80% germination rate.
3. We always include about 10% to 20% extra seeds.
4. Planting instructions:

This is a USDA Zone 10 or greater plant if you want it to be a successful perennial. However, if you live in Zone 9 or less, expect it to be an annual unless you can create greenhouse conditions to sustain the plant during winter. One slight frost will kill the plant. If you live in Zone 9 or less, once the threat of frost is over, simply plant the seeds in a about 1-2" of potting soil. If you are using a one gallon pot, you can get 3 nice sized plants out of each pot. Just fill the pot with soil, poke three 1-2" holes in the soil with your finger and sprinkle about 3-5 seeds per hole (about 9-15 seeds per pot). With the extra seed, you will be assured to get enough germination without having to reseed. You will likely end up with more sprouting milkweed than you need, but better more than less. After they reach about 4 inches, you can thin them to the amount that you desire and either discard the rest or transplant them. Keep the soil moist until they reach 4 inches or at least 4 leaf pairs and then simply water as needed. The plant will thrive with morning sun, but mostly shade for the rest of the day. A 50% shade cloth is recommended as a covering.
